Anthony, you are right with your statement that chlorination is not sufficient for Cryptosporidium elimination. However, MICROPUR Tabs are using in-situ generated Clorine Dioxide (ClO2) that has only the elemet of chlorine in common with chlorination process. ClO2 is much stronger oxidant than clorine, thus, it can be efficient in these special cases and even in turbid water (then its concentration needs to be boosted accordingly).

To be frank I have not looked at this data. Katadyn claims that Micropur Tabs kill or inactivate bacteria, viruses, and cysts (including Cryptosporidium parvum and Giarida muris). By following the usage guidelines printed on the package, which are scrutinized by the FDA, I have been drinking water treated with Micropur tabs for a couple of years on my various outings without a single incident of any kind. From my personal experience coupled with the FDA's approval I trust that myself and anyone who uses Micropur tabs will be drinking clean water with no problems from Cryptosporidium.

There is the claim that Micropure tablets (chlorine dioxide) inactivate Cryptosporidium cysts: what is the scientific reference? The data I have seen on disinfection for these cysts shows chlorination to be unsatisfactory.

Yeah John, I think "running scared" means something very different for Josh than it does for most of us, especially me! He's unbelievable. I saw him run past at the bluff view art district and no one was behind him. Everyone started counting places based on the second guy because Josh blew past so quickly that most people missed him. Awesome run, Josh.
